Cooper Parry Corporate Finance has completed another high profile transaction, with the sale of Orion Trent Holdings Limited to SIG plc.
Orion Trent is a national wholesale distributor of insulation and dry lining materials to building contractors and builders merchants, with headquarters in Sheffield and six other depots in the UK. The company was formed following the merger of Orion Insulations and Trent Insulations in 1999, which took place with a simultaneous management buy-out led by John Barlow. Orion Trent generated annual turnover of circa £28 million in 2003 and employs around 100 people.
The transaction was led by David Browne of Cooper Parry Corporate Finance, who commented “I am delighted for our clients, who have grown Orion Trent steadily during the last few years to form a key supply cog in their industry. Our clients believe the longer term interests of both customers and staff will be served by being part of SIG.”
Legal advice to the vendors was provided by Duncan James of East Midlands Berryman Shacklock. He commented “I am very pleased for the team who have worked extremely hard since the MBO in 1999. The focused approach to the market I am sure will continue as part of SIG.”
